Ladies fashion retailer Apricot has launched a brand new concession at Sandersons Boutique in north Sheffield.


The popular brand is well known for is bold prints and trend-led pieces whilst also offering those staple items - both equally essential to any women’s wardrobe.


Apricot was launched in 2007 with the aim of producing beautiful clothing collections that appeal to both mother and daughter, creating a unique shopping experience.


The new Sandersons concession is the latest of more than 400 across the UK and part of 800 international concessions as well as 12 stand-alone stores.

Preparations are underway at Sandersons Department Store in north Sheffield for the store’s second annual Special Occasions Fayre in March. 

The day-long event which will take place on Sunday 18th March from 11am-5pm is aimed at helping customers prepare from those very special events which are coming up in 2018 – with everything from cars to makeovers and photographers to venues.

Sandersons shoppers can find everything they need to prepare for their big day whether it be a weddings, proms, race days or milestone birthday. 

The team at Sandersons will showcase carefully selected ladies and men’s occasion wear collections from the fantastic brands which can be found in store including Phase Eight, Ted Baker, Hobbs and Remus Uomo. 

Sandersons is also home to high quality prom dress brands Forever Unique and Girl in Mind which offer a wide range of different length and style prom dresses to suit any teen.

The store’s Beauty Lounge experts will also be on hand to create the perfect makeup looks whatever the occasion - tailor made to complete your look.

Guests will be able to book in with the Beauty Lounge team to have their makeup professionally done on the day of their big event and the team from Benefit Cosmetics will be taking brow waxing and tinting bookings. 

The store’s homewares team will also be helping shoppers choose the perfect wedding or birthday gifts including LSA glassware, Katie Loxton and MAKE International. 

Fleur de Lys, Sandersons in store florist, will showcase a range of floral displays perfect for any occasion but shoppers can enquire about tailor made arrangements to suit their needs.

Polished Nails and Beauty is the stores new nails and beauty treatment service which provides all your beauty needs ready to prepare you for the big day including nails, spray tans, individual lash extensions, eyelash tinting and much more.

Sandersons has also enlisted the help of local businesses to showcase other services needed to make your special occasions just that little bit extra special including car hire companies, photographers, wedding and event planners, venues for hire, favours, cakes, lingerie and much more.

There will be live music and entertainment showcases throughout the day which will also be available to book for your special day.

A number of Fox Valley retailers will also join the event including the team from Hummingbird Bridal Studio and their collection of fabulous wedding gowns and the team from Pontis Italian Kitchen who are now licenced to hold wedding ceremonies and receptions.

The team at Sandersons Boutique Department Store are supporting the fantastic Beehives Bobs and Blow Dries Ball being held in Barnsley on February 23rd.

Staff from the Fox Valley store are helping with the event’s glamorous fashion show which will showcase some of the Spring and Summer styles available at Sandersons. 

The store is also providing guest goodie bags and the Sandersons team will be attending the glittering event along with other high profile local businesses and supporters of the Civic.

The Ball is aimed at raising money for two great charities – The Civic’s Connect Project and the Princes Trust. 

The Connect Project is raising funds to reinstating the historic main entrance to The Civic and re-connect it to the town - returning it to its rightful former glory. 

It is being held in the beautiful surroundings of The Civic and hosted by TV Celebrity Fashion Stylist Mark Heyes and Celebrity Hairdresser Andrew Barton – who is of course a Barnsley lad.

The team at north Sheffield’s Sandersons Boutique Department Store are expanding their ladies accessories range with the launch of a local lingerie concession and bra fitting service.

The lingerie brand Lucy May, which is producing all its new ranges 'hand made' in Sheffield, is now available in store and is located on the ground floor ladies’ accessories department. There will also be a new bra fitting service available for customers to book in advance to find the perfect fit for them.

The luxury brand headed by Director Natalie Mosley from High Green has arrived in store this week just in time for Valentine’s Day coming up on February 14th. 

Natalie has over twenty years’ experience in the industry and has worked with major international brands and UK department store’s own brands including Marks and Spencer, before taking the plunge to go it alone.

The Lucy May range is designed to flow with the body’s natural curves and contours, providing every day comfort in beautiful and sensual designs. 

The arrival of the lingerie collection brings something new to Sandersons which can be found at north Sheffield’s Fox Valley development. Director of Lucy May, Natalie Mosley is looking forward to introducing her luxury brand to the store’s shoppers.

There are some exciting changes at north Sheffield’s Sanderson Boutique department store next month as two local businesses which have concessions in the store have set their sights on expansion.

The store’s in-house floristry and nail bar are both due to re-brand their businesses, expand their space and extend the range of services and products they offer. 

The store’s popular Nail Box, headed by Stacey Leary is due to re-launch as Polished at the end of February and will offer a new range of fabulous beauty treatments including individual and Russian lashes, eyelash tinting, lifting and perming and spray tans – as well as continuing to provide a high quality nail service.

Stacey is taking on a larger area at the store at the end of February which will be located towards the rear of the ladies wear department on the first floor at Sandersons.  She’ll also be taking on an additional member of staff. 

Stacey said: “I can’t wait to re-launch my business with new branding, new services and in a brand new location in the store which will be the perfect environment for the new treatments we’ll be offering.

“I would like to thank all of my loyal customers who have been with me over the past 18 months at Sandersons and I’m looking forward to welcoming them to my new look Polished salon in the store next month.”

The store is also expanding the floristry area with a stunning new glazed cove being created at the front of the busy north Sheffield department store to create a beautiful “orangerie” atmosphere for customers. 

Currently called Floral Boutique and owned by local florist Lisa Crossland the business will re-launch under the new name “Fleur de Lys” at the end of February.

Independent store launches eCommerce site

North Sheffield’s independent department store Sandersons has launched its brand new online store – taking the retailer’s unique and diverse offer to a wider audience.

The store opened 18 months ago at the award winning Fox Valley development in north Sheffield with a vision to bring a range of exclusive and unusual brands to the area. 

Sandersons brands including Ted Baker, Tommy Hilfiger, Barbour, Part Two and White Stuff and the store’s Beauty Lounge is the only stockist of Inglot in the region and is also home to a range of natural and organic brands such as SKN-RG and Green People.

Since opening in September 2016 the store has also become a pioneer of some unique and local Yorkshire brands including Harrogate Candles, Pete McKee, Sheffield Candle Company, Sheffield Pewter, Character Shop and Meeze Publishing which sit in store alongside big name brands.  

The new online store which was launched in November 2016 has reached customers all over the UK including places such as Bristol and Scotland and international customers from as far as Finland and Australia.

Now the online offer has launched at www.sandersonsdeptstore.co.uk with Managing Director Deborah Holmes selecting the team from ecommerce experts Visualsoft to take Sandersons to a wider audience, working with the store’s newly appointed Ecommerce and Marketing Executive Katie Woodhead. 

Katie previously worked in Next’s e-commerce department and has over 10 years’ experience working in online Marketing and e-commerce.

Katie said: “It has been really exciting to take this project from an idea to a full online store and to be involved with its development from the outset. The feedback has been great and after a soft launch we are now working on strategies to continue to grow our online sales.

 “We work hard as a team every day to achieve the same high level of customer service online that the team offer in store and the response from our customers has been fantastic.”

Santa and his little helpers have raised a huge £700 for the Wortley Rotary Club over the festive season at the Sandersons Santa’s Grotto.

The special grotto, which was located on the first floor of the North Sheffield boutique department store, ran every weekend from 2nd December to 17th December.

Children received a special Christmas gift and an apple or an orange from Santa whilst raising lots of money for a fantastic cause.

The Wortley Rotary Club is a local charitable group who take part in lots of fundraising activities to help those less fortunate in the local community.

Two teenagers from Sheffield’s University Technology College City Campus (UTC) have created a special Christmas Campaign for the independent Department store Sandersons after taking part in a festive filming project.

The store contacted the college to set their media students the challenge of creating a Christmas advert.  With large stores spending record sums of money of up to £7million on TV advertising campaigns, the team at the independent store was keen to harness the talent of local film makers with the more modest budget of around £200. 

Shauna Mcmanus, 17 and George Allan aged 18 from who study a Cambridge Technicals in Creative Media at Sheffield UTC took up the challenge of creating the Christmas advert for the store ready for its launch on Friday 17th November during the Christmas Lights Switch On event at Fox Valley where Sandersons can be found. 

The campaign will be shown on the instore TV screens and will also be used across social media platforms throughout the festive season.

The advert focusses on ‘finding your perfect Christmas’ and choosing the right gift for those awkward to buy for family members. 

Shauna said: “We are really grateful that Sandersons gave us the opportunity to create their Christmas advert and it is a great experience for us to work with real clients on real projects.”

George added: “We have really enjoyed creating a real Christmas campaign as every department store needs an amazing Christmas advert to stand out from the rest!”

Both students have aspirations for a future career in the media sector with George planning to study a degree in Animation and Shauna hopes to find an apprenticeship in marketing.

The Christmas advert showcases a selection of top brands and products that you can find in store including Ralph Lauren, Tommy Hilfiger and Phase Eight.

The launch of the Sandersons Christmas advert comes out hot on the heels of a number of high profile adverts.

Sandersons department store’s first ever charity fashion show took place last week and proved to be a roaring success all in aid of Stocksbridge Community Leisure Centre.

The event was a sell out with more than 100 spectators who turned up to see the latest autumn and winter fashions modelled by members of staff and friends from the local community.

Sandersons raised more than £500 through ticket sales and a raffle on the evening took the grand total for leisure centre funds to £705.

The evening started with a complimentary glass of prosecco on arrival and finished with 10% off current season ladies and menswear.

The store’s Ambassador of Beauty and Makeup Artist to the stars, Armand Beasley hosted the glittering event. Armand’s credits include Channel 5’s “How to Look Good Naked” and ITV’s “This Morning” glam squad.

The fashion show showcased a large selection of key autumn pieces from the stores brands across ladies and menswear including Hobbs, Tommy Hilfiger, Ted Baker, Barbour and many more.

Stocksbridge Community Leisure Centre is the chosen charity of Fox Valley, the home of Sandersons Department Store.

Sandersons Store Manager Lisa Fox said: “The fashion show was a huge success with lots of glamour and fizz! We can’t thank our generous customers enough for raising a fantastic amount of money for a very worthy cause.”

Over the last twelve months the team at Sandersons Department Store at Fox Valley has supported the charity Campaign against Living Miserably which aims to prevent male suicide in the UK.

Thanks to the generosity of their customers they’ve raised the grand total of £1,906.83 through activities and events in store.

Sandersons Supervisor Amy Hodgkinson helped boost the amount contributed after raising £325 when she took part in the Sheffield 10K run in September.

The store’s year of support for their chosen charity drew to a close at the Gentlemen’s Evening which was held at the end of September this year and one final raffle to boost funds raised was held.

The staff at the north Sheffield store have now selected a new charity – Yorkshire Cancer Research – in support of their colleague Siobhan Smith who is undergoing cancer treatment. Siobhan is the manager at Blakes Tearoom at Sandersons.

Sandersons Store Manager Lisa Fox said: “Thank you to all of our generous customers who have helped us raise lots of money for CALM which is a fantastic charity. We hope everyone will also support this year’s fund raising efforts for Yorkshire Cancer Research.”

The north Sheffield department store Sandersons is working with Pete McKee to showcase some of the iconic Sheffield artist’s unique work in a brand new pop up gallery and store.

Shoppers at the Fox Valley store will be able to view and buy a range of famous McKee prints as well as books, mugs and other popular McKee items inspired by the work which has won the Sheffield artist national acclaim.

Fox Valley is home to a number of much loved McKee pieces, including the Grandad Fox statue which stands at the centre’s entrance – just a few feet from the department store’s entrance.

His striking 14m x 5m mural depicting the men and women of the steelworks reflects the history of the Fox Valley site and can be found on the rear gable end of the store.

Called “World of McKee” the new pop up gallery and store is on the first floor at Sandersons and can be found next door to the Blakes Tearooms.

Sandersons celebrates its first birthday on September 1st and the owner and Managing Director Deborah Holmes says she is delighted to be welcoming Pete McKee’s work to the store’s growing range of uniquely Yorkshire brands.

Deborah said: “It’s no secret that we are huge fans of Pete McKee’s work here at Sandersons, we have the wonderful Grandad Fox just outside the front door so we have a lovely reminder every day of one of our special Sheffield legends.

“We were also lucky to have the Herd of Sheffield elephant designed by Pete displayed in the store for several months. We are delighted therefore to be working with Pete’s team to create a new gallery and concession inside Sandersons.

The team at Sandersons Department store in North Sheffield are turning the spotlight on their male shoppers with their first ever Gentlemen’s Evening later this month.

The event taking place on Thursday 28th September will officially launch the extension to the menswear department which now includes high end brands such as Tommy Hilfiger, Calvin Klein Underwear, Barbour Footwear, Remus Uomo and Guide London.

Shoppers at the Gentlemen’s Evening can also enjoy 10% off across the whole department.

The evening will be sponsored by John Crawshaws Butchers who are providing the catering including their famous sausage rolls, pork pies and other savoury goods.

Bradfield Brewery will be joining the event for beer tasting and talk in a special “meet the brewer” segment and there will be live acoustic music from the talented Andy Hodgkinson.

The contemporary women’s fashion retailer Hobbs is the latest company to join the line up at Sandersons Department Store at Fox Valley, north Sheffield.

Representatives from the iconic British brand fell in love with the unique boutique store when they visited last year and will launch their new concession showcasing the Hobbs Autumn / Winter range on Friday August 4th.

Hobbs was founded in 1981 and prides itself on its classic range of understated British style with high quality occasion wear, work wear and stylish casual wear using classic designs and luxury material.

The new Hobbs concession will be located on the first floor ladies wear department at Sandersons alongside Phase Eight.

The news comes as the store prepares to celebrate its first birthday on September 1st.

Store Manager Lisa Fox said: “Hobbs is a fantastic British brand and we are really excited that the company has chosen Sandersons for its latest concession. Hobbs is one of the Duchess of Cambridge’s favourite fashion brands and we’re sure our shoppers are going to love their classic style too.

“We have a great range of fashion brands here at Sandersons and we’re delighted to be expanding the range with the addition of another fantastic name.”

Hobbs in Sandersons Department Store will open on Friday 4th August 2017.
